This is a great question and yes, there was one scene that was particularly meaningful to write. Adisa gives a talk about an encounter with a privileged young man who taunts here. Something similar was said to me a while ago when I was in New Jersey. I remember when that remark was made to me, I had to remember it and include it in the book.
